Ideas for a more efficient sky.

From the flight deck to the operation room. Throttle builds the tools pilots and airline operations rely on: the weather picture before the flight, the plan the crew carries on board, and the console that keeps it all connected.

From the planning desk to the parking stand.

Every phase of a flight produces information someone has to trust. We build the software that carries it clearly and without losing anything on the way.

Plan

Flight plans, performance and loading prepared against the airline's own rules, ready before the crew arrives.

Brief

Weather, hazards and NOTAMs along the actual route, the full picture on one screen.

Fly

Updates that keep coming in the air, shown as clear differences against the plan in use. The crew makes the call.

Operate

The operations room sees what the crews see: people, roles, reports and the health of every connected system.

One intelligent aviation platform.

A weather app for every pilot, and an operations suite for airlines. SkyWx, SkyOps and SkyDesk are built on the same engineering core.

SkyWx

Aviation weather & NOTAMs

A fast, focused weather briefing for pilots. Plan a route and see the forecast, hazards, turbulence and NOTAMs along your corridor, on a map built for flying.

Recently viewed weather, map tiles and airport data stay cached, so you can review your briefing when coverage drops.

SkyOps

Beyond the traditional EFB

The crew app for the whole day's flying on one iPad. Briefing, flight plan, performance, load sheet and manuals work together instead of side by side, and the plan the crew flies is the plan everything else is checked against.

On the flight deck
  • BriefingWeather and NOTAMs for the route, gathered in one place.
  • Flight planThe plan and navigation log the crew actually flies.
  • PerformanceTake-off and landing figures from the airline's own data.
  • Load sheetLoading and trim, with the final sheet kept as the final.
  • ManualsQuick reference and MEL books on board, offline.
  • In flightFuel and weather shown as differences from the plan. The crew decides.

SkyDesk

Operations Control Panel

The browser side of the platform for the operations room. People, roles, reports and every connected system in one view, so the ground sees what the crews see.

In the operations room
  • Crew directoryEveryone who flies, with their employee numbers.
  • Roles & accessWho can see and change what, per person.
  • ReportingReports from the line, in one place.
  • SupportCrew questions handled where the data is.
  • Connected systemsLive status of every system the platform talks to.
  • Airline rulesEach operator's rules set as configuration, not code.

How we work.

Aviation software earns trust slowly. These are the rules we build by.

The crew judges.

We show what changed, plan against actual and forecast against observation, and leave the verdict to the people flying the aircraft.

One source, named.

Every figure says where it came from. No blending of sources into a number nobody can trace.

Airline rules are data.

Each operator's rules and limits are configuration, set per airline in the backend. They are not hard-coded and do not wait for the next release.

Built for the real world.

Connectivity at the gate is never guaranteed. What you have already loaded stays with you when the network doesn't.

Where the ideas come from.

Throttle grew out of commercial airline flying: early report times, tight turnarounds, and the moments when what a crew needs to know is spread across too many places. The ideas behind every product come from there: the tools we wished we had on the flight deck, and in the operation room behind it.

A flight is teamwork between the flight deck and the ground. Our software keeps both looking at the same plan, the same weather and the same changes. Whenever we are unsure what to build, we ask one thing: would this help on an early report with a short turnaround?

What weather data sources does SkyWx use?

SkyWx pulls data directly from authoritative aviation weather sources including:

  • NOAA Aviation Weather Center — METARs, TAFs, PIREPs, SIGMETs, AIRMETs, G-AIRMETs
  • FAA — NOTAMs, airport information
  • NOAA/NWS — NEXRAD radar, SigWx charts, GFS winds, Graphical Turbulence Guidance (GTG)
  • NOAA — Space weather and geomagnetic storm data

Data is refreshed frequently to ensure you have the most current picture before and during flight.

How do I plan a route and get a weather briefing?

Tap the Routes tab and enter your departure and destination airport identifiers. SkyWx will build a corridor along your route and display weather conditions, hazards, winds aloft, turbulence forecasts, and NOTAMs relevant to that corridor. Tap any item on the map for details.

What do the turbulence colours on the map mean?

The turbulence overlay uses Graphical Turbulence Guidance (GTG) combined with crowdsourced reports. Intensity is shown on a 0–50 scale:

  • Green — Light or no turbulence
  • Yellow / Orange — Moderate turbulence, use caution
  • Red / Magenta — Severe turbulence

Crowdsourced markers show recent pilot reports from other SkyWx users.

How does crowdsourced turbulence reporting work?

SkyWx can passively detect turbulence using your device's sensors while in flight, or you can manually submit a turbulence report. Reports are aggregated on our servers and shown to other pilots on the map as real-time overlays. Your location data is only transmitted when you actively use the app.

How do I filter NOTAMs?

In the NOTAMs view, tap the filter icon to narrow results by keyword, NOTAM type (aerodrome, en-route, FDC), or date range. When a route is active, NOTAMs are automatically filtered to airports and airspace along your corridor.

What is the Winds Aloft chart?

The Winds Aloft chart shows forecast wind direction and speed at multiple flight levels for a given location. Tap any airport or waypoint on the map and select Winds Aloft to see a vertical wind profile. Data is sourced from GFS and wind/temperature aloft forecasts.

How do I restore my subscription on a new device?

Open Settings → Subscription inside SkyWx and tap Restore Purchases. Make sure you are signed in to the same Apple ID used for the original purchase. If the restore does not work, contact us at support@throttle.se with your Apple ID and we will investigate.

Does SkyWx work without an internet connection?

SkyWx requires an internet connection to fetch live weather data. However, recently loaded weather, map tiles, and airport data are cached locally so you can review information you have already viewed even if connectivity drops. We recommend completing your preflight briefing before heading to the aircraft.

How do I report a bug or suggest a feature?

Send an email to support@throttle.se with a description of the issue or your idea. For bugs, please include your device model, iOS version, and steps to reproduce. We read every message and prioritise based on user feedback.

Tell us about your operation.
